In Houston, Texas, at BARC Animal Shelter, there is growing concern about restoring an 11-month-old puppy’s faith in humans. Scarlett’s foster parents recently rescued her. They realized they didn’t have the skills to help a frightened and isolated dog like her.
Scarlett arrived at the shelter on May 10, 2023 as a puppy. She was described as a Labrador retriever mix and weighed about 45 pounds. At first, she retreated to a corner of the shelter and refused any incentives offered to her, trembling whenever someone approached.
On May 15, Scarlet was scheduled to be euthanized. He was fortunately saved by BARC’s timely care.
Scarlett can’t fault anything. She didn’t expect everyone to be the way they were now. We desperately need a parent who can provide care for animals like Scarlett.
