Lean Doberman Requests Only A Filling Meal And A Cozy Bed

A Doberman, needing help, showed up in someone’s backyard. He was suffering from severe malnutrition. The homeowner was surprised that he was still able to stand on his own. But despite his condition he wagged his tail as if he understood that his life was about to take a turn.

The homeowner immediately called Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Louis to ask for help for the dog. This phone call marked the beginning of a chapter in the dog’s life. Let me share with you the inspiring story of Albus, a Doberman Pinscher who refused to let a challenging start dictate his future.

Donna from Stray Rescue of St. Petersburg couldn’t believe it. Louis opened her eyes when she encountered the kindest Doberman she had ever encountered. She wasn’t sure if someone had abandoned him in the neighborhood or if he was wandering there on his own. One thing was absolutely clear, he was barely hanging on by a thread. Donna knew she had to act to save this creature.

When she got the call about Albus Donna didn’t waste any time. He immediately rushed to assess the situation. She expressed her appreciation to the homeowner for reporting the condition of the dogs. He assured him that Stray Rescue of St. Louis will do everything he can to help with the dogs recovery process.

The man was relieved to hear that. Donna could tell he truly cared about the animal’s well-being.

Approaching the weakened Doberman, Donna asked if she could help him. Carefully she gently placed the leash around Albus’s neck. She led him to the rescue vehicle. The dog seemed to understand that he had been rescued and followed Donna, allowing her to lift him into the car where he could finally get some rest.

It didn’t take long for a volunteer to arrive and take on the responsibility of caring for the Doberman. Under his mother’s care and supervision, the malnourished dog began to regain his strength and good health. I provided him with all the treatments, nutritious meals and emotional support needed for a complete recovery.

After receiving heartworm treatment, Albus seemed like a different dog. His lean body had filled his shiny coat with health. His eyes sparkled with vitality. Donna was amazed by this transformation. I cannot express my gratitude to the dedicated and compassionate volunteer.

It is difficult to determine whether the foster mother will decide to keep and adopt the Doberman herself. Donna strongly believes that he will become a part of her home. Regardless of where it ends up, one thing is certain. Thanks to the love and care provided by Stray Rescue of St. Louis and foster mother to the dogs, Albus now has a chance at life.
